Cross Island Line MRT Phase 2 (CRL2), Singapore
Dextra is proud to support the development of Singapore’s Cross Island MRT Line Phase 2 (CRL2), one of the country’s most ambitious underground transportation projects, by supplying key ground support solutions for the CR202 contract package.
As part of the tunneling and rock stabilization works, Dextra provided approximately 1,900 expandable friction bolts and 1,500 GFRP rock bolts. These specialized ground support products were used to stabilize the rock face in the underground sections of the CR202 tunnel alignment, ensuring safety and structural integrity during and after excavation.
The expandable friction bolts, known for their fast and easy installation, provide immediate support in hard rock conditions, while the GFRP (Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer) rock bolts, being lightweight and corrosion-resistant, are ideal for temporary support in areas where tunnel boring machines (TBMs) will pass through, as they can be cut safely without damaging the equipment.
