In an era where environmental responsibility is paramount, organizations worldwide are striving to minimize their carbon footprints. We are proud to announce that our Carbon Footprint of Organization (CFO) evaluation for our office and factory in Thailand has been officially certified according to ISO 14064-1 standard. This achievement underscores our unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.
Understanding ISO 14064-1 Certification
ISO 14064-1 is an internationally recognized standard that provides organizations with a framework for quantifying and reporting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This standard ensures consistency, transparency, and credibility in GHG accounting, enabling businesses to identify emission sources and implement effective reduction strategies. By adhering to ISO 14064-1, organizations demonstrate their dedication to environmental responsibility and gain a competitive edge in an increasingly eco-conscious market.
Dextra’s Carbon Footprint Assessment in Thailand: October 2023 – September 2024

Our comprehensive assessment for the period from October 2023 to September 2024 revealed that Dextra’s operations generated a total of 103,562 tons of CO₂ emissions. To put this into perspective, this amount is equivalent to the emissions produced by flying around the world 10,300 times in a commercial airplane. This extensive evaluation encompassed:
Scope 1: Direct emissions from fuel combustion and company-owned vehicles.
Scope 2: Indirect energy emissions resulting from purchased electricity, heat, and steam.
Scope 3: Other indirect emissions, including those from purchased goods and raw materials, transportation and logistics, employee commuting, business travel, waste management, end-of-life product disposal, and capital goods.
Acknowledging Our Dedicated Teams
Achieving ISO 14064-1 certification is a testament to the collective efforts of our dedicated teams. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Accounting, Logistics, Procurement, Sales, Machine Design, and HR departments. Your meticulous data collection and unwavering support were instrumental in reaching this milestone. This accomplishment reflects our shared commitment to sustainability and the collaborative spirit that drives Dextra forward.
Setting the Baseline for Future Sustainability Initiatives
This certification serves as a critical baseline for Dextra. With a clear understanding of our current emissions, we are poised to implement targeted strategies aimed at reducing our carbon footprint. Our commitment to sustainability is not just about compliance; it is about leading by example and integrating eco-friendly practices into every facet of our operations.
Strategies for Reducing Our Carbon Footprint
Moving forward, Dextra is dedicated to adopting and enhancing various strategies to minimize our environmental impact:
- Investing in Renewable Energy: Transitioning to renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and geothermal power can significantly reduce our carbon footprint. For instance, integrating solar panels into our facilities can provide clean, sustainable energy, aligning with global efforts to combat climate change.
- Enhancing Energy Efficiency: Implementing energy-efficient lighting, optimizing heating and cooling systems, and upgrading to energy-efficient appliances can substantially lower energy consumption. Conducting regular energy audits will help identify areas for improvement, ensuring that our operations are as efficient as possible.
- Optimizing Supply Chain Management: Collaborating with suppliers to adopt sustainable practices and improve energy efficiency can lead to significant reductions in Scope 3 emissions. Encouraging suppliers to use renewable energy and streamline logistics can have a profound impact on our overall carbon footprint. Additionally, promoting the use of low-carbon-emission materials throughout the supply chain further contributes to reducing embedded carbon and supports a more sustainable construction ecosystem.
- Promoting Sustainable Transportation: Encouraging carpooling, the use of public transportation, and the adoption of electric vehicles among employees can reduce emissions associated with commuting and business travel. Implementing telecommuting options where feasible can also contribute to emission reductions. In addition, optimizing shipment routes and loads—both from our suppliers and to our customers—can significantly cut transportation-related emissions and enhance overall logistical efficiency.
- Implementing Waste Reduction Programs: Reducing waste through recycling, composting, and minimizing single-use products can lower emissions associated with waste management. Educating employees about sustainable practices and providing the necessary resources can foster a culture of environmental responsibility.
Looking Ahead: Our Commitment to a Greener Future
Achieving ISO 14064-1 certification on our calculation method in Thailand is a significant milestone, but it is just the beginning of our sustainability journey—our factories in China and India will also undergo the same CFO evaluation and certification in the near future as we continue to expand our sustainability efforts globally.
At Dextra, we are committed to continuous improvement and innovation in our environmental practices. By setting ambitious goals and working collaboratively, we aim to reduce our emissions and contribute positively to the global effort against climate change.
