Qiddiya Upper Plateau Bridge & Earth Work, Saudi Arabia
Dextra is proud to contribute to the iconic Qiddiya Upper Plateau Bridge & Earth Work project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, by supplying 400,000 Bartec couplers in diameter 32mm to support the erection of massive bridge piers.
This ambitious infrastructure project features piers of variable elevations reaching up to 90 meters, constructed using a jumping formwork system. To keep pace with the demanding construction schedule, Bartec couplers have been utilized to accelerate the erection process by eliminating time-consuming lap splicing and reducing rebar congestion.
In addition to boosting construction speed, the use of Bartec mechanical splices brings significant material savings, helping the project minimize steel wastage—a critical factor in both cost efficiency and sustainable construction practices.
Dextra’s Bartec system, renowned for its strength, reliability, and ease of installation, continues to play a key role in some of the region’s most complex and high-profile projects, including this transformative development in the Qiddiya giga-project.
