One City Centre (OCC), Thailand
One City Centre (OCC) is a 61-floor office building project in the heart of Bangkok, Thailand.
The building is composed of two masses—the sleek core on the west and the glass office space on the east. The tower is defined by the intersection of these two volumes and is wrapped by a diagonal structural system that envelops the core.
A total of 150,000 Bartec rebar couplers and 20,000 headed bars have been installed in the underground substructure and superstructure as follows.
Underground sub-structure:
- Applied in diaphragm walls.
- To reinforce steel rebar in the mat foundation.
- To simplify the top-down construction process.
- To facilitate the concrete pouring stage of the mat foundation (headed bars).
Superstructure:
- Applied in core walls.
- Used as a dowel for starter bars.
- To connect columns and columns to beams.
- To facilitate the construction work in temporary openings.
The project is scheduled for completion in the last quarter of 2022.
